Pregnancy Boy or Girl

Pregnancy result being positive is the happy and enthralling moment for the couples who go unaware of anything else and enjoy the moments of being parents. But as the days pass and the pregnancy is shown in the abdomen expansion, curiosity grows between the couples to know whether the baby they are expecting is girl or boy?  This is the moment where both couples will have sweet moments of extra debate on the topic, their baby gender. Science has given the technology to predict the baby gender by scanning and some more methods of gene testing. Earlier the couples had 50/50 chances of expectations of the baby to be him or her.

Tests

Ultrasound scanning is the most appropriate method of knowing the baby gender. Ultrasound scanning is normally done during 20 to 28 weeks of pregnancy when the genital development of the baby is clear. Though maximum times they give the right report in scanning sometimes it can be negative and now these days there are policies not to revolve the sex of baby. Genetic test is another method of determining baby’s sex before birth; this is rarely used when done for particular test of knowing the genetic information due to some reasons and is normally available to public. These genetic tests are 99 percent perfect in determining the sex of the baby. But traditional methods which do not have any scientific reasons are used for finding baby’s sex.

Traditional method of finding baby’s sex is normally termed as old wives tales. There are many strategies they use for this purpose by seeing the size of the abdomen or by taking into account if the stomach is hanging it is boy or if upward then it is baby girl. Which the science clearly ignores and rejects explaining the abdomen hanging or upward is due to the toning of muscles and the uterus. There is another method popular in china which is used all over i.e. Chinese lunar calendar which are many versions. But this will raise blind hope if the couple do not have scientific temper. These kinds of methods are very much prevalent in rural areas of Asia especially. There are some prayers which on performing will give the expected gender baby, which is followed from ancient times and is still more in performance even by the people who have scientific temper.

Affects of Gender Finding

Most of the countries in the world have banned the gender testing of the unborn baby. Due to the ill social affects causing lot of gap in sex ratio which has been considered and taken seriously by all the governments in the world. Gender findings had led to increased number of female feticide misbalancing the sex ratio. There is a need of scientific temper development to consider both the genders equally as one. This has also led to the rise of new slogans all over from governmental to non governmental organizations working in all corners of earth to create awareness and bring gender equality.
