How to Conceive a Boy

If you are dreaming of bugs, building blocks and baseballs, then you may also be wondering as how to conceive a boy. There are thousands of theories based on how you can tip the odds in your favor but with due respect to nature no one guarantees about getting a baby boy. Apart from artificial insemination, gender selection is a fifty-fifty funda.

Is it right to have a preference?

Many people say that the only thing that matters to then is to give birth to healthy and physically and mentally fit baby but the surveys show some other results only. Through surveys it was found that almost 80 percent of parents confessed to a preference for one either a son or a daughter. Infact most of the parents went for ultrasound test to detect the gender of the baby.

Generally men want a son and in contrast women want daughter. But it is no different for couples already having a child wishing for the opposite gender on second pregnancy to create a more balanced family.

How baby sex is determined?

It is not possible for a woman to determine the sex of her baby. Woman’s have eggs in them which contain chromosomes. If there are x chromosomes then she will give birth to baby girl and if there are y chromosomes then she will give birth to baby boy.

When a man ejaculates, he transfers around 200 to 400 million sperms into women’s vagina. Some of these sperms are x chromosomes while the rest are y chromosomes. However, only one sperm is needed to fertilize an egg. All theories regarding how to conceive a boy are based in the belief that couples can create an environment that gives an advantage to the sperm containing the Y chromosome.

How to conceive a boy: techniques to try

There are various methods defined on how to conceive a boy. Some of them are as follows:

The shettles method

Dr Shettles theory is based on the assumption that chromosome Y moves faster than chromosome X. For this reason, he recommends that couples wanting o have a baby boy should not intercourse for more than 24 hours before ovulation to no more that 12 hours past ovulation. He also believes that deep penetration by your partner will allow the sperm to come closer to the cervix, allowing more aggressive y sperm to get a start in fertilization.

The Whelan method

This method was developed as a rebuttal to Dr. Shettles best selling book. Dr Whelan is of the strong belief that sex of the child is determined by the timing of the intercourse. According to her having sex during your monthly cycle is more likely to give birth to a male child. Based on this research Whelan method will help couples conceive sons 68% of times.

Thus the above methods were few amongst many methods suggested. To know more about this methods or some other methods on how to conceive a baby boy you can search internet.
