The fetus starts to move during the 16th -22nd week of pregnancy.

Now, that you are 100% sure that you are going to be a mother, you have to take care and follow several steps in order to have a normal and healthy pregnancy. First of all, go to the doctor; do a medical exam so that you should be aware of your possible immunity problems or of some eventual incompatibilities that you might have to certain pills. Avoid taking anti inflammatory substances, such as aspirin or ibuprofen, because they increase a lot the risk of loosing the pregnancy, especially if they are taken in the conceiving period or more than a week. Consume daily a certain quantity of vitamins (0.4 g of folic acid). Their role is to reduce the risk of congenital malformations. Go to the dentist and solve any denture problems that you have. Keep the evidence of your menstruation; this will help your doctor to establish exactly the stage of your pregnancy. Start a healthy lifestyle and a balanced nutrition. Avoid caffeine, alcohol, drugs, different medicines or substances that may harm your pregnancy. Do regulate physical exercises; remember that a healthy and strong body will help the woman to get through the pregnancy and birth difficulties. Physical exercises help also to maintain a high moral level.

The key of success are the constant gynecological consults. The doctor observes attentively the pregnancy, the fetus’s development and the eventual problems that may appear during the pregnancy. Do your blood and urine analysis and have your tension measured. Anything that harms a pregnant woman will also harm the baby. Besides caffeine, alcohol, chemicals and drugs, a pregnant woman should also avoid exposing herself to radiations and to different sources of infection. She should be attentive at her body temperature, which should not go over 38 degrees; any fever tendency should be cured at the doctor’s advice. Moreover, the pregnant woman should avoid doing activities that may cause high body temperature, including hot baths and saunas.

During the pregnancy you will change a lot. Physical and emotional changes happen, but you shouldn't be scared. Everything will come back to normal when all is finished. You will have no menstruation during the pregnancy period, but you will have in stead a sort of white vaginal substance. Your breast becomes more sensitive and your appetite changes; you begin to dislike or like more certain aliments. Also, you will have sleeping problems: you might feel tired no matter how much you sleep. You will urinate more often than before; during the second month nausea and indigestion appears.

Avoid stress! In stead of being afraid of what is going to happen, try to imagine how wonderful will everything be when your baby is born.
