IUI Success Rates

Females who wish to get pregnant should undergo a test or you may call it as intrauterine insemination (IUI) i.e. one should look into the IUI rates of success before you have a sexual intercourse. IUI is a process where one of the partners has to place sperm directly into the uterus when the ovulation process is being done by the female. Couples facing the problem of infertility can get pregnant with the help of IUI.

Success Affected by Infertility Cause

IUI success rates are subjective. They vary from person to person. It generally ranges from 4 to 20 percent. Infertility is one factor which affects the success rate of IUI. The other factors that lead to IUI’s success are:

  • Fertility problems of males
  • Infertility which is not explained
  • Couples suffering from endometriosis
  • Females with cervical mucus issues

The users of the donor sperm for being pregnant have experienced the highest success rates of IUI. But the only condition to this is that the problem of infertility is male based. It is almost 16.3 percent according to the sperm bank of California.

The other things that also lead to the success of IUI is the use of drugs like Clomid and FSHs. Milder version of endometriosis and the treatment of IUI together lead to higher rates of pregnancy.

Provider IUI Success Rates

For further success of IUI your clinic and doctors should be chosen properly. They contribute to the success rates of IUI not to a large extent but to small extent. Get advices for the problem of infertility from a trusted and well educated doctor. You may consult your family doctor in this case. If you are unable to find a doctor then ask your friends as to which doctor did they consult to achieve their pregnancy with the fertility problem. Also the physicians who have specialized in this IUI department should only be contacted for better results of pregnancy. Such physicians can bring about higher rate of pregnancy. Not only this but also the timing when you inseminate is also very important.

Choosing IUI Treatment

The treatment of IUI is suggested only for the couples who have infertility problems. And a good amount of success is achieved in many of the cases with regards to same.

The couples who have not achieved quiet a good amount of success with the treatment of IUI should go and consult their doctor or physician and ask them whether they should not go for further treatment of IUI and go for other treatments like IVF. IVF can be comparatively reasonable unlike IUI as it is always good to go for success of IVF then failure of IUI. Now this is again a joint decision of doctor and the patient. Unless both the parties agrees the treatment of any of the procedure cannot be undergone.

Thus you can see that the choice of IUI wholly and solely depends on the agreement of both the doctor and the couples.
