Period and Pregnancy

Period is crucial part of all adult women. If a period is missed then starts all the tensions, and the worry sudden strikes to confusion of pregnancy in a married woman. But is pregnancy the only reason for the period to miss or stop for time being. No, period can stop for many reasons and pregnancy is not the only result. But it is true that stopping of period is a good sign of pregnancy, but it is not the final. There is a need for all women to understand better about the period and pregnancy and stop worrying unnecessarily. Consulting the doctor for any such problem is the fine way instead to just dream or worry of pregnancy.

Missed Period

What is missed period? It is the absence in the normal menstrual cycle. This is the indication of the pregnancy in major cases, but missed period is also a cause due to other reasons like illness or stress related and many other problems. There are some cases in whom there is missed period and negative pregnancy which can be the cause of stress, illness, and thyroid problems, body overweight or underweight. This can also be due to the use of birth control pills or DepoProvera and sometimes even the medication itself is a reason for the disappearance of period, this condition is acceptable and if it is a missed period without medication then is a cause to be taken seriously.

Period during Pregnancy

Period during pregnancy has become a myth, a total confusion and a serious matter of worry in women who face this. But, Is period appearing after pregnancy is true? Answer is absolutely NO! The bleeding or the vaginal spotting in pregnant women is not actually the period, it is the early pregnancy bleeding. The menstrual cycle stops as the harmones released during pregnancy prevent the ovulation, bleeding is not menstrual period. Early pregnancy bleeding is a common occurrence in most of the women and this confuses the real due date of pregnancy. There is another kind of bleeding called the Implantation bleeding which is very hard to classify whether is menstrual period or the implantation bleeding. Implantation bleeding occurs usually after five days of conception when the early embryo burrows into the walls of uterus resulting in bleeding. This is normal and is not a matter of worry.

Period and Pregnancy are to be understood properly by all women and have self knowledge to understand and go with the doctor’s consultation. Result of these confusions are the missing out the accurate due date. Bleeding can also be a result of the pregnancy while on birth control pills, which is an intermittent bleeding. As bleeding disappearance is the symbol of pregnancy, it is most important for both partners to have the date and an idea when to expect the baby, so that it is well planned for maintenance and care. Don’t always be on period to symbolize the pregnancy. It is always advised not to go on traditional methods and be always dependent on medical consultation as it matters for rest of time even after expecting the baby.
