Having Another Child

Is your family a complete family?

Feeling a sense of incompleteness as a parent shows the need to have another child. The number of children is not of much importance when it comes to your desire to have more than one or two children as long as you can provide your children with financial assistance, and other required support system.

Is your better half ready for yet another child?

Each pregnancy brings with it certain body changes, sometimes these pregnancies can lead to high blood pressure or diabetes etc. It has been noticed that vaginal deliveries lead to episiotomies while cesarean deliveries leads to surgery and it takes time to recovery completely not only this pregnancies and child birth takes a toll on your physical self also. The need to have a gap of at least few years between two children is of utmost importance so that both you and your baby remain healthy.

Are you financial fit for the next addition in your family?

Baby’s bring a ray of sunshine into your lives but then they come in a package of extra financial crunch as it has been seen that with the arrival of the new addition into the family the cost of diapers, doctor’s bills etc all rise up as there is a constant need for these when it comes to bringing up your baby, as your baby grows older the need to educate the baby also becomes a top priority and if you decide to stay back home to take care of your baby then there is a loss of job and this brings a complete stop to that extra pay pack.

Not only will you find yourself in debts this financial crisis can sometimes lead to loss of harmony between you and your spouse taking all this in mind you need to firstly, consider the pros and cons before deciding to go in for yet another addition into your family.

Need for a change in your life-style

A second or a third addition into your family will see a change in the priority list as the new one will be getting more attention which could affect the life style of your older children as well as yours. Taking this and your financial position into consideration you should decide to add another baby into your family.

Are you feeling guilt?

Many a times it has been found that parents want another baby for some really wrong reasons like:

  • child being labeled as an only child, or having a label of being a spoiled child
  • Pressure from your partner to have another child
  • Being brainwashed into having another child from friends, relatives, in-laws etc.
  • Thinking about the biological clock clicking away.

If you are worried about your biological clock ticking away then you can always opt for fertility treatments or consider adopting.

Considering all the pros and cons of having another baby if you still decide to have another child then go ahead as this decision is a welcome sign and if you don’t wish to add another one in your family circle then you can go in for a permanent sterilization program so as to avoid unwanted pregnancies.
