One's pregnancy may be termed as high risk if she is under 17 and are at a increased risk of experiencing intrauterine growth restriction, if the woman is carrying more than one baby, if she has a chronic health condition like diabetes or there heart problems, if she has a history of gynecological problems such as endometriosis or pelvic inflammatory disease, or if she has a history of pregnancy loss, if she had two or more second-trimester abortions or if she conceived while making use of IUD. It is not that high-risk pregnancy should always have a high connotation. If taken proper care majority percentage of high-risk pregnancies produce healthy, viable babies. The earlier a problem is detected the better will be the chances for the mother and baby to stay healthy. The mother should also visit the doctors regularly to ensure better protection. |
