Massage For Relaxation

Massage has many medical benefits. There should be no seedy thoughts that race through your head when you think of massage. Massage has real therapeutical value for many people in many different conditions of health. Athletes have long reaped the benefits of massage understanding how it can be used to help them recover more quickly after workouts. There are also many benefits of massage for a pregnant woman. It is important for a pregnant woman to manage their stress levels. Massage for relaxation during pregnancy is effective, natural, and offers other benefits at the same time.

The main reason that massage is so beneficial is that it releases endorphins in your body. These endorphins are powerful and there effects are domino-like in that the endorphins address one issue that has an effect on another issue that has an effect on another issue. The endorphins can help you relax and minimizes your stress level. This decrease in stress levels can help you sleep more soundly. This improved quality of sleep can help combat the fatigue that is often experienced during pregnancy. You’re more relaxed, so you stress less, so you can get more sleep, so you’re more relaxed. You get the idea!

The massage not only releases endorphins it also can improve your circulation. The improvements to your circulation can be felt immediately. The improved circulation and blood flow can help your muscle tone and can help with those pesky spider veins. I don’t know about you but the idea of tightening my butt and fixing those veins all while I am lying down makes me feel more relaxed already!!! But seriously, all of this increased and improved circulation is also really good for sleep and of course relaxation.

There is a cautionary tale here that is very important and should not be taken lightly. There are some countries that use massage as a natural way to stimulate miscarriage. There is a risk of miscarriage in pre-natal massage. It is very important that you visit a licensed and certified massage therapist that has training and education in pre-natal massage. The massage used to stimulate miscarriage is very particular but you should be sure to avoid any techniques that could possibly mimic those techniques used in this type of massage.

Overall the benefits of massage are incredible. Massage does not have do be a full body massage all the time. A great foot massage can have the exact same effects. Foot massage has it’s own science and techniques that can be used to relax the body. There are all kinds of reflexology acupressure points that can be found in your feet that reportedly can address all sorts of health issues. I know that a foot massage at the end of the day can feel just heavenly and make all your problems, aches and pains melt away. While you’re at it go ahead and get a hand massage. It feels terrific and has a way of making your whole body relax. So go full body or just a part of your body but massage something because it is so relaxing even doctors say so!
