Antibiotics For Preterm Labor Linked To Cerebral Palsy

The use of antibiotics by the pregnant women has elicited sharp reaction in the recent past on this topic. Medical practitioners have differed on the use of the drugs, but the research that has been conducted has shown that women who use the antibiotics drugs when they experience premature labor. These drugs increase the risk of cerebral palsy on children who their mothers used the antibiotics when they were pregnant with these children. The use of antibiotics is used to prolong the gestation period when women experience preterm labor. Although this does not mean that all women should avoid the use of antibiotics when they develop this problem as when they have ruptured membrane and shows infection of the placenta then the use of antibiotics is necessary to avoid contracting major complications and also ensuring the safety and health of the baby.

How can a parent be enable to tell if their baby is suffering from cerebral palsy? When apparent was subjected to antibiotics when she was pregnant with a child and suspect the child is suffering from cerebral palsy the following are some of the symptoms that can be used to tell if the child is suffering from this disorder. A child that is suffering from this disorder will show the following signs

  2. Movement problem
  3. Poor and uncoordinated way
  4. Hearing difficulty
  5. Speech problem
  6. Learning disability
  7. Vision problem

When apparent is able to spot these problems in their child it is more probably that the child is suffering from this disorder. Children born prematurely are more likely to develop this disorder later in life. The problem now is left wide for people to decide how they would love to take their medication as the use of antibiotics is crucial in prevention of preterm labor. However, a patient with this problem can consult the doctors to see the best way to go about such a problem that cannot endanger the life of the unborn child and also that will put their life to be at risk of developing cerebral palsy. It is good to prevent preterm labor and use of drugs that are less harmful should be used when such a problem arise.
