Toddler Stuttering

We all know that the stuttering of the toddler id very frustrating for the children and parents also. In number of cases the problem of stuttering gets solved on its own.

The development of the language and the toddler stuttering

The development of tongue or language is one of the primary steps which a toddler learns firstly in his or her life. When your toddler was baby you enjoyed and celebrated the each word from his or her tongue. When he or she grew up into an active toddler, their words started becoming phrases and later they became sentences. Because all the years of toddlers are full of or burdened with the frustration, the toddler may start stuttering as well. Number of people and even parents ask that stuttering is a matter to be considered or not? And the answer to this query of them is “may be”.

In number of cases these toddlers stutter because they have lot of words or things to say, and they just try to convey those words very quickly or one can say as quickly as possible. But if this poor speaking skill of the children is not checked it may turn into a habit. What is supposed to stuttering, however, it just be a repetition of the words. For instance, a toddler who is very excited to go out of the house and play with the friends may speak this way, "I…I…I…want to go out." Well this may appear like stuttering but in actual it’s not stuttering. While speaking a sentence if your child repeats the first word or only first syllable then its not stuttering only it’s a classical state of stuttering.

What does stuttering actually means?

In the medical terms the stuttering means only the absence of the fluency and the existence of stuttering in the toddlers is very rare. According to the survey carried out by a Non Government Organization (NGO) stated that only five to ten percent of young children or toddlers suffer from the problem of stuttering. How can you help your child in getting rid of stuttering? This can be done by just paying the attention to the way he or she stutters. If he or she struggles a lot to speak out first sound, like "m…m…m…mummy", then he or she is certainly suffering from the stuttering problem. If he or she repeats the particular word while speaking a sentence the its not at all case of stuttering.

One must notice the physical signs of his or her children like frustration or anger while the toddler is stuttering in order to know the stage or whether their child stutters or not. While stuttering your child may tighten his or her jaw, tightens the fist, or may move his or her head in forward direction in order to force the word out. These are actual indicators of your children if he or she is suffering form or have stuttering problem.
