Maternity Hospital The Things That You Will Need

There are number of things that may need your last minute attention especially when your labor pains start. The things that you may need while in the hospital needs to be packed before hand as this last minute preparation may lead to unnecessary stress and strain. You need to keep two bags i.e. one for you and one for the new arrival.

The things that you will require to put into your maternity bag are your maternity bathrobe as this will be useful in the initial stages of your labor as you will need them to move about in the hospital to help increase the labor pains.

Along with the maternity bathrobe you will need a nightgown that will help you to move around the hospital after the delivery. Along with these you will need slippers and if the climate is cold you will need socks too. You can always carry a front open nightdress or a front open night gown to help you feed your baby properly. You can also carry some light snacks and mouth fresheners and if possible carry some health drinks which will come handy.

A handy toilet kit with all the required things like the toothbrush, tooth paste, face creams, hair brush etc is certainly a great help when you enter the hospital with your delivery pains.

If you are need to your reading glasses it should also be packed into this bag as you may need it and you also need to carry your mobile phone with all the important numbers so that you can pass on the good news of the new arrivals to all your near and dear ones.

A couple of books or magazines are also handy to pass your time to keep your mind from distraction. Maternity pads are of utmost importance as the ones that they provide in the hospitals are of very cheap quality and may not sustain all the excess menstrual flow after the labor. Another thing that you may need to add to this bag of yours is nursing bras as they will be helpful to you when you start feeding your baby. Buy a nursing bra that will make you feel comfortable but don’t go for wearing underwire bras as this will hamper the flow of fluid nutrients which is very essential for your baby.

The things that should go into your baby bag are diapers for the new born baby, a hat for the infant, blankets, and clothes for the baby, warm clothes like bonnet, booties and socks.

Having kept these things handy will help solve all the last minute pains and worries when you start developing labor pains. Get the infant car seat installed before hand so that you will not have to rush for it at the last minute, you also need to make sure that this infant seat is installed by a professional or you can get the help of you or local fire station service to install this baby seat for you. Taking care of all these will help you from any last minute heartburns.
