Don't Crib About Your Baby Crib

The first thing to buy for your baby is none other but the Baby Crib. Every mother needs it and can't compromise it for anything else. Many people gift them during Baby Shower or when the baby is born. Now-a-days there are not only standard cribs available in the market but they are portable and convertible as well. In olden days people used to have cribs made of cloth which they used to hang from one corner to other. But those days are gone and now they are available in wooden frames and also electronic ones are available in the market. There are so many options available today but some features which one needs to take care are as follows:

Types of Cribs

There are various cribs available in the market like Convertible Crib, Round Crib, Wooden Cribs and so on. But one needs to first decide upon his need and budget because some of them could be very expensive. Like for instance if you buy Convertible Crib which can be later on converted into full bed for your kid when he grows up can be pretty much expensive. But at the same time Round Crib or other Wooden Crib can be relatively reasonable. If you need it only for 6-8 months then you should opt for it. Many prefer Round Cribs because they require less space and can fit anywhere in the room. Also it does not have any pointed edges.

Kind of Material used

Cribs are either made up of Metal or Wood. Metal ones are relatively light as compared to the Wood ones. Traditionally people used to purchase cribs made up of wood only. But care should be taken that it doesn’t have pointed edges because it can hurt your baby. Some cribs are also available with wheels so that you can easily move around your baby in any part of your room. Just take care that the wheels get locked properly. Avoid using old cribs as they can harm your baby.

Width and Weight of the Mattress

The other thing that accompanies crib is the mattress which one needs to spread on the Crib. It should be of a relatively small size then the actual crib. It should fit in properly. Also the same should be washable as they tend to get dirty faster. Light colors should be preferred in contrast to your crib.

Colors

Cribs are normally available in different colors like Grey, White, Black, Dark Wood and Light Wood. The one which soothes your eyes and suits your room should be chosen. Many prefer the wooden polish one as there are no chances of paint getting scratched from the crib.

You need to wisely think before buying any crib because normally parents start with the cradle first and then purchase a crib. Also the cradle requires less space as compared to the Cribs. The use of it should be thought before actually purchasing them. These days they are also available with Mosquito nets which can be an added advantage.
