Ovulation PeriodThe ovulation period is the time each month when a woman’s ovaries are producing an egg. Menstruation occurs right after this period because it is the time when the woman’s body is disposing of an unfertilized egg. Healthy women between their teenaged years and menopause usually go through an ovulation period about once a month. In recent years some women have tried to avoid ovulation periods by taking the so called no period birth control period. Calculating the Ovulation PeriodInterestingly enough calculating the time of a woman’s woman ovulation period is a primitive kind of birth control. This birth control is recommended by the Catholic Church and some other religious groups that consider artificial birth control sinful. Many women will use the same method for the opposite purpose to get pregnant and have a child. It is sometimes possible to predict when the next ovulation period will occur by marking the days between periods. The idea behind this is that the egg in the ovary is more likely to get fertilized during the ovulation period. Having sex during period is considered a good method getting pregnant. Even though this method is popular it is still very much a hit or miss approach. The egg only lives between 12 and 24 hours in the ovary before the body disposes of it. This means the woman has to have sex during this period to get pregnant. Since only egg is released it can hamper ovulation. Problems during the Ovulation PeriodOutside factors can affect or decrease a woman’s chances of getting pregnant during the ovulation period. A big one is stress, a woman who is under a lot of stress at work or home can be less likely to get pregnant. This is why many women who are anxious to get pregnant don’t get pregnant when they and their husbands make a concerted effort to get pregnant. The extra stress of trying to produce a baby can actually have the opposite effect. This means that relaxation is often necessary when trying to have a baby during the ovulation period. One good method of doing this might be to go away on a romantic holiday to a peaceful retreat with your husband during the ovulation period. Some Other Things to remember about the Ovulation Period Menstruation symptoms such as vaginal bleeding do not mean that ovulation has actually occurred. Some women actually menstruate without ovulating. Ovulation can also occur without a menstrual period. This is why a lot of women still get pregnant when they use so called natural birth control methods. Their ovaries can be producing eggs at any time of the month and they don’t know it. The ovulation period can actually occur apart from the menstrual period so tracking menstruation to get pregnant doesn’t always work. Indeed there is actually no proven sure fire method tracking ovulation. This means that woman shouldn’t get discharged if her efforts to track or predict her ovulation period haven’t resulted in pregnancy. Instead she could keep trying and talk to her doctor. |
