Ovulation pain starts almost a couple of weeks before the start of your monthly periods and this pain occurs in the lower part of your abdomen and can be felt on either side of your abdomen as this depends on which side of the fallopian tube releases the ovary or the egg. Women have even experienced stomach cramps during their menses which last for a couple of days after the menstruation starts. There are some who have faced with nausea or vomiting followed by menstrual bleeding or spotting which can go on for a day or two. Why does one suffer from ovulation pain?Ovulation pain occurs due to the rapture of the ripened egg that is released from the fallopian tube at the time of ovulation, this ruptured egg results in the leaking of blood which is reabsorbed causing irritation in the lining of the abdominal walls leading to pain, and the intensity of this pain all depends upon the volume of the blood that is discharged and also on the body constituent of an individual. Ovulations as you know is the time when the body prepares to discharge a egg or ovum which is ready to be fertilized and during this fertility period one should try getting hyper active or taking unnecessary medication. Drinking plenty of water or other fluids along with ample of rest, use of pain killers and taking a note of your body temperature through out the day will help you from developing infection in the abdominal walls thus preventing ovulation pain. Using hot water pads or heating pads or having a relaxing warm water bath will help you get rid of ovulation pain. But then if this ovulation pain persists for more than 2 or 3 days with other symptoms like passing blood in your stool or vomiting blood, running high temperature, breathing problems, faintness, urinating problems etc then the problem needs to be looked into at the earliest. Ovulation pain is not a serious problem and can occur any time during your menstrual cycle. If the pain is persistent and in spite of medication you don’t find any relief then you can opt for laparoscopy a method wherein a narrow tube which is attached with a fiber-optic light at one end in passed through the small incision which is done below the navel directly into the abdominal wall to give you relief.
