Ovulation Kits

Ovulation kits come handy as they help you to predict your ovulation period. The use of other ovulation testing devices like Cervical Mucus checking or observation and BBT Charting give you the best result when you decide either to start a family or want to avoid unwanted pregnancy.

There are three different varieties of ovulation kits that are available in the market which helps you to find the perfect ovulation period. Ovulation predictor kit or OPK, Fertility Monitors and Ovulation microscopes.

  1. OPK or Ovulation Predictor Kit this comes with strips which are also known as urine test strips and these are used to test the level of Luteinizing hormone or LH in the urine.
  2. Fertility monitors these are also used to check the increase of LH level in the urine , these kits are more advanced in comparison to the OPK kit and these are used to detect the fertile period in your monthly menstrual cycle.
  3. Ovulation microscopes are also used to detect the approaching fertile period or ovulation period in your monthly menstrual cycle but here saliva sample is used for testing. Here the fertility or ovulation is detected by a method called ferning pattern which is detected through the use of microscope.

Predicting ovulation can be really a tricky job as every person has her own monthly menstrual cycle or period. The use of any of the above mentioned ovulation kits helps you to either start a family if you have decided to start one or help you prevent any unwanted pregnancy.

These ovulation predictor test kits are really useful if you use them properly and they do work out giving the best possible results provided you make use of them at the right time as they should be used from the tenth day onwards from the day you started your menstrual period or cycle and this also depends upon the number of days you menstruate in order to get the best possible result.

The main difference between the mid-stream tests and that of test strips is that in the mid stream strip test you need to allow the urine to flow over the strip while in case of test strips the strip is supposed to be dipped in the urine sample collected and that the cost of the mid-stream test strip is more compared to the test strips as they are simple to use and cost less.

The more advanced ovulation kit is that of the fertility monitors as they not only cost more but then they are more precise and accurate compared to the other two ovulation kits, fertility monitors are user friendly and help detect the fertility period of up to a week while the other two help detect the ovulation period or fertility period for a couple of days. The most popular and widely used fertility monitor is the Clearblue Easy ovulation kit.

Ovulation kits are very useful and effective to help you detect your ovulation period accurately thus increasing your chances of conceiving and starting a family in the process.
