The new skin now has no stretch marks and it is smooth in the beginning the color of the skin is pink but then gradually it returns to its normal color but then it takes around 6-8 weeks for the marks to fade away. The patient is however advised not to expose the skin to direct sunlight for a couple of months after the dermabrasion surgery. If exposed to sunlight then there are chances of permanent darkening of the area that has undergone surgery.
