Stretch Marks On Back - Do You Want Them To Re-Appear

Stretch marks are mostly related to pregnancy but then it has been seen that even men are affected by stretch marks. Stretch marks as you know are because of sudden stretching of the body. This stretching can be due to sudden weight gain, puberty and even due to pregnancy. Most of the time the areas which gets affected are the waist, hips, stomach, legs, lower back, breast and buttocks. In case of women stretch marks develop due to pregnancy.

Stretch marks tear the layers of the skin especially the lower layer or the dermis which is a supportive tissue assisting the stretching of the skin. As the elasticity increases and the skin tissues get pulled there is tearing of these tissues causing stretch marks to appear.

Stretch marks can develop in red, purple or brown colored streaks depending upon your skin tone. The pigmentation usually fades away with time giving way to a silver colored streak but then in some cases these are deep rooted causing damage to the skin layer.

Age plays a major role as it has been seen that young women have less chances of developing stretch marks as their body is suppler and has more elasticity compared to older women.

Genetics also plays an important role as it has been seen that if a mother had developed stretch marks during her pregnancy then the chances of her daughter developing stretch marks also increases.

The growth of the baby in the mother's womb also plays a significant role as it has been found that the baby if very healthy the weight of the body will also increase as the sac carrying the baby will have more of amniotic fluid causing stretching of the skin tissues causing the damage of the skin tissues.

In most of the cases it has been found that these stretch marks fade away with time and the body regains its original texture. Though men develop stretch marks, it gets hidden due to the hair growth on their chest and abdomen. The reasons for men developing stretch marks are due to hormonal changes that take place in their body which leads to the rapid growth of the body structure during adolescent period. Vigorous training sessions can also lead to stretch marks in men and finally due to either excess of weight loss or excessive weight gain men too develop stretch marks.

Stretch marks in men can be due to deficiency of the required nutrition and in some cases where stretch marks are not visible in men it could be due to the excessive production of a hormone called corticosteroid which is known to prevent stretch marks from developing. Stretch marks can be avoided if proper care is taken regarding the food you eat as balanced food with all the required nutrient values along with a regular regime of exercise will help maintain a constant weight thus avoiding undue pressure on the skin which gets torn in the process of excess of weight gain leading to the development of stretch marks.
