Stem Cells

If you want to know more about the stem cells then you should know that there are basically three types of stem cells and they are adult stem cells from the bone marrow times of In general, umbilical stem cells from the umbilical cord blood and embryonic stem cells which can be fetched from embryos of humans. However, the third option is still undeveloped and a bit controversial. In the medical world bone marrow cells and umbilical cord cells are used in people who have certain blood disorders or immune system diseases. However, there are still many studies going on in order to make this thing more effective. Some of the diseases in which stem cells transplantation is useful are leukemia, aplastic anemia, and many other cancers.

It is true that bone marrow cell transplantation is an effective remedy but bone marrow transplantation does not guarantee that the disease is completely cured and it will never happen again. But again, as per the available estimates and studies bone marrow transplantation has positively worked for many patients all over the world. In many immune system diseases bone marrow transplantation is an effective thing.

There are still studies going on in the field of stem cells to find out that whether they are effective in treatments of blindness, burns, autoimmune disorders, lupus, heart damage, cord injury, liver disease and many more. Researchers also suggest that in future stem cell translation therapy will be useful in re growth of teeth, hair and also treat many diseases which we feel is impossible today. The best option of treating umbilical cord cells transplantation is that the body does not have to face nay kind of negative responses. Whereas, in other options the body may reject the transplanted material. But here in this there is nothing like that.

And that’s the reason why the healthcare providers say that rather than throwing the umbilical cord it should be used by the medical world. You may donate it or you may store it with a private bank. However, you should talk about several terms and conditions with the private cord blood bank. Also, the decision that you want to make should be made quite earlier. And if you have certain immune system or blood disorders then you should not donate it and not even store this.

But it is worth noting that the cost is too high when you decide to store the cord blood with a private bank. The bank people with test the blood and then there is one more process. . If there are any diseases like HIV, HLA, hepatitis etc then this thing should be avoided. Also, the blood has to be matched with the one who requires whether in present or in future. And then as soon as testing is completed, a preservative called as cryopreservant is added to the blood. And if that’s the case then this blood is not useful to anyone. And thus it is going waste. Take the decision and do well to someone or for yourself.
