Welcome The New Arrival With - Childbirth Preparations

Starting with your decision to get pregnant until the time that you conceive there are a lot of preparations to be done. This preparation does not stop after you conceive as this preparation is a nine month process. The last few days of your pregnancy flies so fast that you are left wondering as to how you will overcome all those labor pain blues and how will you welcome the new addition into your family and there are a lot of other things to check out and prepare for before the new arrival.

You need to make a note of things that you need to finish off before you go in for labor, like if you have older children at home to look after the first thing that you need to do is to make alternative arrangements for them to be well taken care off. You could always seek the help of your family members and friends well in advance as the arrival of the new one is not an informed one and he or she can arrive at any time of the day.

You also need to make preparations for the baby’s clothes, sleeping room for the baby i.e. make arrangements for a crib for the baby to sleep in ones home from the hospital. You also need to have a car seat fitted well in advance as this needs to be fitted before the arrival of the new one. You need to have a stack of bibs, diapers, warmers, etc kept handy in case of an emergency.

You also need to keep extra sanitary packs as the ones that are provided in the hospitals are of not very good quality so it is better to have your stock ready well in advance as you will need them not only in the hospital but also when you get back home.

You also need to know about your insurance and medical claims before you get yourself registered in the hospital as sometimes you need to know which hospital comes under your medical plan and if possible find the one that is close by to your residence so that you don’t have to run at the last minute.

The need to make arrangements to have your doctor ready at the time of delivery which includes making arrangements for your anesthetist in case of an emergency with the entire medical cost etc.

You also need to store up your freeze with ready to eat food as due to breastfeeding it has often been seen that you will tend to get hungry very soon and so these ready to eat food stuffs come very handy as you can just heat them and have your full. You also need to keep a diary with all the required numbers of friends and family members as you can share the news of the new arrival.

Though these are small things they need to be kept handy as running about them at the last minute will cause a lot of stress and strain.
