Childbirth Pain A Common FeatureWhy is pain always accompanied by childbirth?Every woman experiences pain at the time of childbirth though the level of pain varies from each woman. The pain you experience could be due the physical discomforts that may be caused due to the position of the baby and the sensitive areas which may be undergoing the pull and push during labor. As a mother there are certain things that are not in your control. There are other reasons for pain during childbirth and this pain could be due to the tightness felt due to unnecessary pressure applied to other parts of the body instead of relaxing it. Pain is due to tiredness of these parts and you need to relax in order to utilize this energy for the contraction and relaxation of your uterus muscles. The pain may be due to the positioning the body i.e. changes in the position of the body causes the change in the various pressure points in your body so avoid those positions that could aggravate and induce extra pressure on your uterus, pelvic region and on the back so as to allow the labor smoothly. Pain is also related to anxiety as this is a natural phenomenon of human body. Due to stress there is a contraction of the uterine walls leading to the limited supply of the oxygen to the baby as well as the uterus lining. This low supply of oxygen leads to stress causing the muscles to build up more pressure and tension increases the pain. The best way is to learn to relax so that there is no undue pressure on the uterine walls and there is sufficient flow of oxygen to the baby throughout labor period. The three above mentioned reasons cause pain during labor. So learning to cope with the pain is of foremost importance. To do so firstly you need to follow a nutritional diet with a regular regime of exercises which in turn will help you to manage any health related problems. You also need to learn about the best comfort position so that you will be physically fit and will not have unnecessary pain due to position. Lastly, you need to find a way to overcome your fears about labor pains even before it starts. You need to learn some relaxation exercises so that you will have a thoroughly relaxed body which will help you to overcome all the pains of childbirth without the involvement of fear factor. Labor pains vary from woman to woman and this is mainly due to the contraction of uterine muscles. This pain starts with cramps in the abdomen, back, groin and an over all tiredness in the body. Labor pains are not intense at the beginning as they come in slow periodic motions gradually the frequency increases and the pain becomes extremely intense. You need to attend childbirth education classes so that you will learn how to control your stress and relax during the labor period thus helping yourself for a safer and natural childbirth delivery. |
